Linen & Locks

This piece expresses the journey from field to finished textile, created from local materials. The journey began with bleached linen flax and raw, local fibre. I spun the linen and other locks and fibres by hand, plying them together to create yarn, then wove it into the final fabric.

This tapestry has been woven by me in my Falmouth studio, using traditional skills. Working on a Glimakra Countermarch floor Loom, I translate my sketches into textiles.
