Cornish Coastline Tapestry

Hand-woven in my Falmouth studio, this tapestry translates direct visual memories—sketches and photographs captured along Cornwall's sweeping seascapes—into a textile tapestry.

Using the natural grid and lines of the weaving process, I build intentional depth and perspective by mapping out the foreground, centre, and background of the shore. The woven ground becomes a site for interpretation, where wind-blown dunes, waves of valleys, and shallow pools capture the shifting coastal light and movement.

This series blends traditional techniques with a contemporary feel, transforming the rich beauty of the coastline into a unique textile.
