'The English word 'sampler' derives from the Latin 'exemplum', or the old French term 'essamplaire', meaning 'an example' – a reference work featuring patterns and elements that the owner may have learned or copied from others, to recreate again in new pieces.' V&A
During this workshop you will learn a variety of stitches that will help you build up an understand of Tapestry Weaving and will produce a sampler to aid in future projects.
How to set up a Lap loom
Horizontal Stripes
Dots
Vertical stripes/pick and pick
Small squares/pick and pick
Splits
Hatching
Curves
Soumak
Finishing off your Sampler
You will weave a sampler in two colours on one of Debbie's own Little Looms included in the price of the workshop.
The course is broken down into 3, 2 hour evening sessions.

This workshop is suitable for both people who have a basic understand of weaving and beginners.
